This is a short made with my musical collaborators here in Chicago. It’s a track they made called “Maldonado” and it’s on the record “The Thrush”. My goal with this video, as with all shorts I make for public consumption, was to change up my style. I am typically a fan a black space. So I flipped that aspect and went for white. The colors and patterns come from an extremely complicated analog video synthesizer patch involving 6 video rate oscillators, a mixing matrix console, and lots of frequency modulation between oscillators. In the end it’s 3 black and white signals corresponding to R, G, and B. Add in some mulit-band live audio analyzation and your done.
